The American Gold Eagle Series from the United States Mint has four options available to investors each year. BU Gold Eagles are produced in 1 oz gold and three fractional–ounce weights. Neither sees the demand that the 1/10 oz and 1 oz Gold Eagles enjoy, but both are still among a series that is one of the best-selling gold bullion coin collections in the world.

All of these 2022 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are Brilliant Uncirculated specimens that have been MintSealed. MintSealed is a term we use to reflect specially chosen coins that we sealed inside individual clamshell cards. The cards have the date, series name, weight, purity, and metal content of each coin noted on the primary face of the card. There is also a product ID number and a separate QR code on each of the cards.

On the obverse of 2022 1/4 oz Gold Eagle Coins is an effigy of Lady Liberty. This historic vision shows Liberty in full-length relief as she walks toward you with a torch held up in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The U.S. Capitol Building is depicted near her feet in the background field with sun rays emerging from the horizon to frame her figure. There are 50 stars around the entire design element.

The reverse side of the 2022 American Gold Eagle comes with an all-new design that debuted in 2021. Issued midway through the year, the new design shows the eagle’s head in left-profile relief as its physical features are captured in brilliant detail.
