Description

1 oz American Reserve Columbia Goddess Gold Bar (New)

Before Americans looked to Lady Liberty as a symbol of freedom and democracy, American Colonists turned to the image of Columbia in literature and propaganda to symbolize a hope for freedom from British tyranny. American Reserve now offers a series of Columbia Goddess bullion pieces that feature metals mined, refined, and minted in America. Right now, 1 oz American Reserve Columbia Goddess Gold Bars are available.

Bar Highlights:

  • Arrives in a sealed blistercard!
  • Includes gold mined and refined in America!
  • Stirring Columbia Goddess design!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .9999 pure gold.
  • Obverse depicts the logo of the American Reserve brand.
  • Reverse includes Columbia with a torch and the American flag.

Each 1 oz American Reserve Columbia Goddess Gold Bar available here is sealed individually in a blistercard. These bars feature gold that was mined and extracted in the United States. Asahi Refining USA transported the raw, unrefined gold to its Utah facility where it was refined into fine gold grain. The final step includes transporting the refined gold to Miami, Florida, where Asahi minted it into these gold bullion bars.

Columbia served as an unofficial national personification for over a century. She appeared on coins, in paintings, sculptures, and political cartoons. The name “Columbia” was used for the nation’s capital (District of Columbia) and for numerous American institutions and geographical features. However, her prominence began to decline in the early 20th century, particularly after the Statue of Liberty was erected in 1886. The Statue of Liberty, with its more concrete form and powerful symbolism of welcoming immigrants, gradually took over many of the roles that Columbia had played in the national imagination.

Obverse design elements on the American Reserve Columbia Goddess Gold Bar include a depiction of the American Reserve logo. The brand logo design consists of the initials of the brand, AR, interlaced at the center with a rock-like background field. The identifying hallmarks are engraved on this side.

Reverse visuals on the 1 oz Columbia Goddess Gold Bar come from Joel Iskowitz and depict Columbia. Her front-facing figure holds a torch aloft with her right hand and is draped in the American flag as she grips it with her left hand. The torch’s light shines radiant rays of light across the field of the bar.
