The American Platinum Eagle coin is the official platinum bullion coin of the United States government. The federal government backs the purity, weight, and metal content of each and every Platinum Eagle produced by the United States Mint. The word “LIBERTY” is stretched along the top of the coin and accompanied by the engravings of the year of minting and the phrase “In God We Trust.”

On the reverse side is the image of a bald eagle soaring over the setting sun. Engravings on this side include “United States of America,” as well as the coin’s weight, metal content, purity, and face value.
