Each Pre-33 $10 Indian and Liberty Gold Eagle 2-Coin Set available here comes with coins in About Uncirculated, or better, condition. Coins in AU+ condition have wear patterns that range from light to only trace signs of handling on the highest points of relief on the design elements. The coins will also feature mint luster that ranges from medium to near full. The coins in this set ship in separate plastic flips.
Date marks available in this side include the potential for years of 1838 to 1907 for the Liberty Head Eagle, as well as 1908 to 1933 for the Indian Head Eagle. Each one of these coins has its own distinctive history. The Liberty Head Eagle was the longest-running design in the series with a history that lasted nearly 70 years. The Indian Head Eagle had a unique combination of classic Liberty portrait art with an indigenous feathered headdress.
The obverse of the coins in the Pre-33 $10 Indian and Liberty Gold Eagle 2-Coin Set features an effigy of Liberty. The Liberty Head coin features a left-profile portrait of Liberty wearing the coronet crown. The Indian Head coin features Liberty wearing an indigenous headdress in left-profile relief.
On the reverse of each coin in the Pre-33 $10 Indian and Liberty Gold Eagle Set is the American bald eagle. The Liberty coin bears the heraldic eagle of the United States, while the Indian Head coin features a bald eagle perched on a sheaf of arrows. The Liberty Head coins lack the motto IN GOD WE TRUST for dates of 1838-1866, while coins from late 1866 to 1907 have the motto included.
