When the Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark Series started in 2011, it was available with only 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1 oz silver coins. In 2012, the series expanded to feature large coins in weights of 5 oz, 10 oz, 1 Kilo, and 5 Kilo silver. These coins have much lower mintage figures than the smaller silver options. The highest reported mintage for these 5 Kilo silver coins was 476 coins, a figure reached in 2014.

In the obverse design of 2022 Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark Coins is a depiction of the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia. The design shows a quartered shield that is supported behind by a heraldic eagle and a heraldic lion. On the shield, there are eagles and lions in the various quarters of the design field. At the center, there is a small shield with a depiction of Noah’s ark resting atop Mount Ararat.

For the reverse design of the 2022 5 Kilo Silver Noah’s Ark Coin, the mint features an artistic rendering of Noah’s ark. The ark is shown as it glides along the floodwaters following the biblical rains sent by God to cleanse the world. The sun begins to rise above Mount Ararat in the background field, with a dove in the foreground that flies into view with an olive branch in its beak.
