One of the largest coins in the Australian Gold Rooster Series is available today as part of the Perth Mint’s Lunar Series II coin program. Launched in 2008 to follow up the successful Lunar Series selection, these coins feature new designs from the original series and a wider range of coins available. Right now the 2017 10 oz Australian Gold Rooster Coin is available as a BU specimen.

Each 2017 10 oz Australian Gold Rooster Coin available here from JM Bullion is a BU specimens. Coins in Brilliant Uncirculated condition exhibit no signs of wear and tear, but may feature minor flaws ranging from breaks in the luster and spotted surfaces to contact marks from the striking of the coins.

The Year of the Rooster covers all those born in 2017 and every 12th year going backward in time. The 12-year cycle of the Zodiac assigns a different animal to each of the 12 years, with those born under the sign of a specific creature said to share the emotional and character traits of that creature.

On the reverse of all 2017 10 oz Australian Gold Rooster coins is the image of a single rooster, standing on one leg among the foliage and flowers of China. This image has engravings around it that identify the coin series and the mint of issue.

The obverse of all Australian Gold Rooster coins features Queen Elizabeth II’s effigy. Her Majesty’s right-profile portrait was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley, and is used on British and commonwealth coins struck every year around the globe.
