Lunar-themed products are nothing new in the numismatic world. Perth Mint coins are an excellent example of an annual release series that collectors covet because there is a new design each year. PAMP Suisse took their lunar series to a new level with a continuous design concept.

Rather than using the Year of the Rooster, or applicable lunar year, design on just one side, the refiners at PAMP created a continuous concept with their designs. This means you view the Year of the Rooster image on one side of the bar from one point of view, and when you flip it over the design on the opposite side is the same, but from a different point of view.

For example, on the obverse of the 100 Gram PAMP Suisse Lunar Rooster Gold Bar you’ll notice the left-profile stance of the rooster as it perches at the edge of a rocky outcrop. It is featured looking back over its body behind it with long plumage on its tail.

Flip to the reverse of the 100 Gram PAMP Suisse Lunar Rooster Gold Bar and what you see is that same rooster, but from a right-profile point of view as you would see it from a different angle. You are seeing a different side of the rooster’s body, and the rocky outcrop goes from left to right on the bar’s surface rather than right to left.
