American Gold Eagle Coin you’ll find an image of Liberty in full-length robe with flowing hair as she walks forward toward the viewer from the city of Washington DC, with the national capitol building visible in the background. Surrounded by 50 stars and the word “Liberty,” this design was originally created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens.

The reverse of all American Gold Eagle coins includes the image of a male bald eagle flying over a nest that contains a group of hatchlings under the watchful eye of a female bald eagle. This design is exclusive to the American Gold Eagle coin and was created in 1986 by Miley Busiek.
